Have you ever wished you could make money while doing something you love, like playing video games? Well, now you can!
Whether you’re a casual gamer or a pro, there are plenty of ways to make money playing video games. From get paid to websites to streaming on platforms like Twitch to participating in tournaments and competitions, there are many options to make money playing video games.
How I Make Money Playing Video Games?
I’ve always been an avid gamer, ever since I got my first Playstation, but I’ve never been very good. So when it comes to making money from playing games, I’ve found that the easiest way for me is Get Paid To (GPT) apps/sites.
If you never joined a GPT site they are simply like loyalty programs where you earn points/money from completing surveys, reading emails, watching videos, playing games, purchasing things online, recommending friends, and other activities.
When it comes to making money from video games, you can earn anything from $5 to $100.
I’ve tested a number of GPT apps, my favorite is Swagbucks. Swagbucks offers a variety of games to choose from.
In order to make money from video games on GPT sites, usually you have to either reach a certain level or obtain multiple milestones within 7 to 30 days.
Some games also offer tiered payouts in which once you reach a milestone or level you will get paid. i.e.
- Reach Level 5 – $1.00
- Reach Level 10 – $5.00
- Reach Level 15 – $15.00
- Reach Level 21 – $35.00
Do I need to Spend Money?
In most cases, you can make money without spending any money. However, if you want to speed up the game, you can invest some money in upgrades or in-game items.
Here are a few tips for making money playing video games on GPT:
- Check out game guides on YouTube channels, blogs, and forums these can really help you complete the game faster.
- Make sure you take a screen snapshot of the rules or note down what you need to do in order to qualify. For me, there was one occasion I didn’t do this and I thought I made it. However, I think I did it wrong and I wasn’t credited for it.
Now that is how I make money playing video games.
However, as I mention there are many other legitimate ways to make money playing video games.
Here I have collated a list of the easiest ways to make money playing video games.
1. Get Paid To (GPT)

GPT sites, or “get-paid-to” sites, offer users the opportunity to earn money by completing various tasks, including playing games.
Here’s how to get started:
- Sign up for a reputable GPT site. There are many GPT sites out there, so it’s important to do your research and choose one that is reputable and has a good reputation like Swagbucks (Get a bonus of $5 for signing up)
- Start playing games. Once you’ve signed up, you can start playing games and earning points or cash rewards for your time and effort.
- Play consistently. The more you play, the more you will earn.
- Also, you can take advantage of referral programs. Some GPT sites offer referral programs, where you can earn additional rewards by inviting friends to sign up and play games on the site.
Here are some additional tips for making money playing games on GPT sites:
- Read the terms and conditions carefully. Before you start playing games on a GPT site, be sure to read the terms and conditions carefully. This will help you understand how the site works and what you can expect in terms of rewards.
- Be patient. It takes time to earn a significant amount of money playing games on GPT sites. Don’t expect to get rich from it.
- Have fun! Making money by playing games should be fun. If you’re not enjoying yourself, you’re less likely to stick with it. So choose games that you enjoy and that you’re good at.

To get started, you’ll need to download a P2E game app and create an account. Then, you can start playing games and completing tasks to earn rewards. These rewards can come in the form of in-game currency, virtual items, or even real money that you can withdraw to your bank account.
Some popular P2E game apps include:
From what I read, yes they do pay, but not a lot, expect to make between $0.50-$1.50 an hour.

One way to make money playing video games is to become a Game Tester. This is a job that involves testing video games for bugs and glitches before they are released to the public. As a Game Tester, you’ll play video games for hours on end, trying to break them and find any problems that could affect the player’s experience.
To become a Game Tester, you’ll need to have a good eye for detail and be able to spot even the smallest of bugs. You’ll also need to be able to communicate effectively with the development team, providing them with detailed reports of any issues you find.

With that said, you can also combine a number of these methods together and make even more money.
For example, say you play Star Trek and test it out on Swagbucks, at the same time you document the game and create a game guide on how to level up on a blog and record yourself and upload it to Youtube.
Sure it may take a little bit of setup, but now you can really max your efforts.
Why didn’t I think of this earlier? ๐
Pros – What I Love
- What I loved most was the ability to make some money and play games like Star Trek Fleet Command, especially being a Trekky fan. They even had the latest Star Trek Discovery in it.
- I also loved that there was a good variety of games to choose from.
Cons – What I Dislike
- One of the things I dislike most was some games became a grind, especially at the higher levels. From a pure money perspective, it really did suck up a lot of time.
- Another thing I dislike is there is no easy way to track the date when you download the game and when is the last day before the ability to earn money expires.
